The LOVE helpdesk

'Love one another, make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.' Kahlil Gibran

Sometimes we just need a bit of 'reprogramming', a certain letting go of what no longer serves us; beliefs, behaviours - that which inhibits growth and enjoyment.

In the case of new relationships - this often means 'changing the old record' ;-) you know the one - that same old record that crackles and pops it's way along tired old grooves, playing that same tune over, and over, and over, and over, and.......isn't is time for a change?

Wouldn't it be great to be free of the past? To be only aware of what happens now? In this moment? To be completely free to channel all of your precious energy into the good stuff - into today, and creating more good stuff?!

Ohhhh yes it would! YOU KNOW IT ;-) So stop right now - and change that darned record. Choose the new tune carefully - get into your heart and leave all limitations where they belong - in the past.

Decide how you want to feel, what you want to experience - and commit to thinking only loving and nurturing thoughts. When negative or old patterns arise, acknowledge and release them. Allow the associated emotion to surface, find a way to release it (emotion is really only energy-in-motion, which calls for expression. When we hold on to emotion, the energy is stored in the body, and manifests in other ways - so let go of it and make room for better feeling emotion. Employ whatever it takes; exercise, singing, screaming into a cushion, journalling, mediation etc. Let the energy be released.)

'Instead of resisting any emotion, the best way to dispel it is to enter it fully, embrace it, and see through your resistance.' Deepak Chopra

I love this perspective from the Love Helpdesk (from an email I kept for years...) Enjoy it, and have a happy dance to that lurvely new tune ;-) ehehehe...

Enjoy your week!

Much LOVE

Thanks to_Installing Love_

Tech Support: Yes, ... how can I help you?

Customer: Well/, after much consideration, I've decided to install Love./Can you guide me through the process?

Tech Support: Yes. I can help you. Are you ready to proceed?

Customer: Well, I'm not very technical, but I think I'm ready. What do I do first?

Tech Support: The first step is to open your Heart. Have you located your Heart?

Customer: Yes, but there are several other programs running now. Do I install Love while they are running?

Tech Support: What programs are running ?

Customer: Let's see, I have Past Hurt, Low Self-Esteem, Grudge and Resentment running right now.

Tech Support: No problem, Love will gradually erase Past Hurt from your current operating system. It may remain in your permanent memory but it will no longer disrupt other programs. Love will eventually override Low Self-Esteem with a module of its own called High Self-Esteem. However, you have to completely turn off Grudge and Resentment. Those programs prevent Love from being properly installed. Can you turn those off?

Customer: I don't know how to turn them off. Can you tell me how?

Tech Support: With pleasure. Go to your start menu and invoke Forgiveness. Do this as many times as necessary until Grudge and Resentment have been completely erased.

Customer: Okay, done! Love has started installing itself. Is that normal?

Tech Support: Yes, but remember that you have only the base program. You need to begin connecting to other Hearts in order to get the upgrades.

Customer: Oops! I have an error message already. It says, "Error - Program not run on external components." What should I do?

Tech Support: Don't worry. It means that the Love program is set up to run on Internal Hearts, but has not yet been run on your Heart. In non-technical terms, it simply means you have to Love yourself before you can Love others.

Customer: So, what should I do?

Tech Support: Pull down Self-Acceptance; then click on the following files: Forgive-Self; Realize Your Worth; and Acknowledge your Limitations.

Customer: Okay, done.

Tech Support: Now, copy them to the "My Heart" directory. The system will overwrite any conflicting files and begin patching faulty programming. Also, you need to delete Verbose Self-Criticism from all directories and empty your Recycle Bin to make sure it is completely gone and never comes back.

Customer: Got it. Hey! My heart is filling up with new files. Smile is playing on my monitor and Peace and Contentment are copying themselves all over My Heart. Is this normal?

Tech Support: Sometimes. For others it takes awhile, but eventually everything gets it at the proper time. So Love is installed and running. One more thing before we hang up. Love is Freeware. Be sure to give it and its various modules to everyone you meet. They will in turn share it with others and return some cool modules back to you.

Customer: Thank you!

The Feel Good Factor - everybody's FREE!

"Sickness and health are not simply physical states that the methods of science will eventually analyse completely and make understandable. They are rooted in the deepest and most mysterious strata of Being." Andrew Weil

It's really quite amusing that in our society we are so interested, and identified with illness. We have millions of names for all kinds of symptoms and conditions, organisations spanning the globe set up to study, support and report on disease, and we're quick to compare wounds and draw comparisons on our experiences. (swine flue)

However imagine for just a minute, the impact of a global society entirely focused on well-being. WOW! Can you imagine such a world? What would happen if we shifted all the energy, attention and focus that is currently trained to the study of disease...to the study of well-being...how different would our societies be?

1. Empowered?
2. Healthy?
3. Wealthy?
4. Unified?

"Taoists do not study disease; they study life and health and how to maintain them." Stephen J Chang

Ancient cultures have always practiced in the holistic well-being model - treating the person, not the illness, considering emotional and mental factors as well as the physical.

Having recovered from cancer six years ago, (and many other 'ailments' since), using this model - without pharmaceauticals and other mainstream medical technologies - I totally 'get' this approach, as I have discovered in life that whatever you focus on you get more of. (that's everything!) Look around, those who focus most on illness - have illness, those who focus on loving life and all the good stuff - have that. When the later do get ill, they seem to bounce back in record time, whilst others encounter multiple factors and long recovery periods.

Well-being comes from a sense of internal peace. You cannot have well-being and be identified with illness. The two are at opposite ends. Well-being exists when we rise to life's challenges and surrender the stress - finding ways to surrender to 'what is', losing resistance. Illness exists where there is resistance and 'fear', for whatever reason - to what is - reality.

Four years ago I decided, when a friend introduced me as a 'breast cancer survivor', to let go of that identity, and become wholly 'me' again; resplendant in vibrantly good health. Illness is a tough one to keep up with ;-) As I made that commitment I felt instantly as though a physical burden had been removed from my shoulders, a sense of relief. After a while, my persistent ailments vanished, without effort, simply by shifting focus to what 'is' rather than what 'should' be.

Whenever I observe illness in my body now, I know that I need to surrender the belief - the 'story' and find a way to feel better, to be 'at ease', and let life flow. I LOVE Abraham's analagy for disease; 'dis-ease; 'dis' (upstream) 'ease' (downstream). SIMPLE!

Well-being is downstream. Feel the difference? The way forward?

1. Stop thinking about poor health
2. Stop talking about poor health
3. Stop expecting poor health
4. Stop accepting poor health as your natural state

A B C...IT'S EASY AS... (forgive my cheesy-ness, ehehehe)

ACCEPT well-being as your natural state
BEGIN to live FULLY today - do not delay!
COMMIT to finding thoughts that feel better

DWELL in the possibilities of OUTRAGEOUSLY GOOD HEALTH!

If you're having trouble accepting how psychology effects physiology, and visa-versa, explore 'placebo'. It is proven time and again with drug trials, so why not consider the possibility that you have a choice in positively effecting your well-being - from the inside out, next time you're ill? BE the change...

We know that certain mental/emotional factors effect our bodies via the deliciousness of such sensations as 'goosebumps/gooseflesh' and butterflies - oh and that certain male response (ahem), so quit pretending that we have no control over our bodies. ;-)

Joseph Campbell said "You've got to find the force inside you."

That force is THE 'FEEL-GOOD FACTOR'! It's yours now and forever, FREE, 100% accessible 24/7, limitless, symptom-free, available anywhere/anytime, for everyone who chooses. It's also extremely contagious and can be FUN! The only health proponent on the market that is all this and more.

Try it! Channel your emotions, use you intellect and will-power to guide your thoughts to better places. Think thoughts that FEEL better. Choose well-being by making it your prime focus - expect it! It's only natural :-)

Here's a bit of fun for the old ravers out there - turn it up LOUD!!! (stripping down to your bra, is optional)

Are you ready for the adventure of a lifetime?

"Life shrinks and expands in proportion to one's courage."
Anais Nin

What skill, talent, or great secret are you keeping from the world, that if you had no fear...you would share and become the person you came here to be?

What have you long aspired to be, do or have, and how much longer are you prepared to wait for it? Your whole life? Is the fear really that powerful or indeed worth it? Or could you simply recognise it for what it truly is 'FEAR; Fake Expectation Appearing Real'.

"Do the thing you are afraid to do and the death of fear is certain."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

When you really think about it, it's obvious, you have two choices:

Option 1.) Feel the fear and let it perpetuate further inaction.
Option 2.) Feel the fear and do it anyway.

To put it more simply you might ask yourself this question:

Do I want to feel better, or do I want to feel worse?

Better would be loosing the white knuckles and getting on with the ride. Worse would be resisting growth or denying your needs. As Abraham (Hicks) so aptly puts it, ask yourself,

"Is that an upstream thought or a downstream thought?"

TIP #1: Upstream; problem-focused :-( Paddling hard against the current, getting wet, getting nowhere fast, lots of dangerous rocks with lots of bruises and bumps along the way. Could be fun, but...

TIP #2: Downstream; solution-focused :-) With the current...ahhh...feel the difference? Pop the cork, pass the canapes...mmm, lovely tune you're playing on that guitar...wow...is that a flock of Flamingo's over there? ehehehe...got it?

No prizes for guessing which one I'm choosing! (that's not to say that I haven't already earned my stripes as a heavy-weight professional upstream-as-fast-as-I-can-go kinda gal...ohhhh noooo...scars as well. I've been sooooo bloody good at this stuff!).

Now for those of you who love to go into battle with bulging muscles and scintillating intellect - it needs to be said that downstream is not necessarily a 'cop-out'. When something is easier it is no less 'right'. Struggle and strive are soooo last year darling! Come on! Get with the prograam dude.

More hurdles and scars at the end of the ride, doesn't make the ride any better. The path of least resistance bears dividends that you can't even begin to comprehend right now. More energy for one, less pain another, plus you get to wear that smug look on your face for at least a day! :-P

Seriously, there are really only two choices in life; one that feels better, and one that feels worse - and only you will know the answer. Does it really feel better to resist your magnificence?

So why not harness the fear in preparation for the ride of your life! A ride that sustains and supports you, now there's a novel concept! What can you jettison to lighten the load first? Any limiting beliefs per chance?

Oooookaaay, ARE YOU READY? GREAT! Now, let go of the reins and hold on to your hat...it starts when you say so, and goes wherever you want it to go...just let go and enjoy the ride...who knows where it may take you...woo-hooooooo!!!!

Here's a wee taste of what's to come...metaphorically for some of you ;-) quite literally for at least a few of you!! :-S ehehehe...

You gotta go there, to come back

Vacations are not about 'getting away' - but about getting in 'touch'. Chinese Proverb

Holidays are a great opportunity to regain focus, balance and get back to basics about what life is really about. Having had the very great gift bestowed upon me last week by a client of a week in italy (!!), I feel very grateful to be able to share with you, what I consider to be the greatest treasures of Italian culture.

1.) Food - obviously!!
2.) Family
3.) Beauty

FOOD; Apart from the fact that Italians take coffee very seriously (ahhh...), the next most obvious thing is that you never - EVER - see an Italian eating on the run. This, is akin to sacreligious behaviour. You must eat, enjoy and allow time for the body to digest, and the energies to restore before undertaking other activities. Each component of the meal is complementary and significant in the order of proceedings; Antipasti, pasta, meats, vegatables, dolci/sweets, digestiv liquor. Elegantly presented and incredibly simplistic, our cilinary experiences brought to mind Leonardo Da Vinci's words, "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication."

FAMILY; Italian families commune together regulary, both at home or in the public domain, in leisure or activity. They openly show their love and appreciation of each other, and share quality time. We saw whole families out on bikes together (as Lucca is well known for its cycling poulation), all ages cycling along; sometimes three generations - and all incredibly fit! On Sunday, the smartly dressed townsfolk flock to the churches for worship, then populate the towns many restaurants with their vibrant, melodic chatter to share the blessing of food together.

BEAUTY; The Italian love of beauty is evident in mounmental proportions - everywhere you look; Fashion - most Italians are effortlessly stylish at any age, and the men are noticable bold in their use of colour and pattern (metro-mania...LOVE it!). Food is always beautifully presented and artistically displayed so as to draw the eye and send you salivating through the doors.

The architecture is sublime! (obvs) Richly detailed, beautifully crafted, thoughtfully presented, balanced magnificently between form and function - ultimately triumphant!

Extreme physical beauty alert! Why are Italians so INSANELY gorgeous?! Walking past living statues of great beauty, it is a constant assault on the senses as you pass through the packed piazza's of perfection. It takes a while to get used to the open and often ardent attention of the male poulation (ohhh...well at least a day!), and quite frankly - one could grow to really LOVE that part of Italian culture :-) It's not only the men either - the women also stare openly and seem to assess you from top to toe as you pass. We took this as admiration ;-)

They are passionate people, it is in everything they do, evidence of love and lust and romance and also of duty and ceremony and ritual. They do not drink or eat too much like too many of us in the western world; Everything in moderation - even moderation (except for love!)

Italy is intensely romantic, it is the fabric of society, they love to love and aren't afraid to show it. How could one not fall in love, in Italy, whilst one still has a pulse?

Only passions, great passions, can elevate the soul to great things. Denis Diderot

For me, this holiday was like stepping into a beautiful painted canvas, and becomming part of the scene. Incredible colours, rich reds, golds, greens against a perfect backdrop of ancient stone, clear, blue skies and sublime light. Perfectly temperate at between 26 -28 degrees, we enjoyed the 'siesta' opportunities and late night happenings.

Getting 'back to normality' after a holiday is a habit I have chosen to drop. In its place are integrated aspects of my Italian connection, to balance and continue the celebration of life, love and all the richness there.

Enjoy some amore on me this week! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aS6-b7CONDI

Thanks for tuning in...

Ciao ciao!

One for the kids!

"It is never too late to have a happy childhood." Tom Robbins

This week I had the very great honor of spending an afternoon with a class of 10 and 11 yr olds. How refreshing!! In their world; 'NOW' is where all the best stuff happens, new challenges are very exciting, and everthing is possible.

Volunteering to participate in a safety education program for schools was, for me, particularly challenging on many levels:

1.) I'm not sure that creating fear in small minds doesn't also create reality in later lives. (within reason)
2.) Am I able to responsibly influence these young souls to follow rules and regulations? (never been my strength!!)
3. Would I not rather be with the kids - in their world - exploring their wisdom??

So I decided to tackle my fears head-on, and explore what was there for me. Not surprisingly, I discovered what an incredible gift it is to see the world again through 10 year old eyes. How it changes so many things.

Everything is ripe with potential, the insurmountable seems trivial, there are no previous expectations, hence each event is pure and positively experienced. Being so 'present', response time is incredible. Conversely ability to 'bounce-back' and refocus after potential scare situation, is acute and impressive.

"When you finally go back to your old hometown, you find it wasn't the old home you missed but your childhood." Sam Ewing

My challenge to you this week is to be the 10 year old. Join my gang - as I challenged earlier this week on FB.

What can you do differently?
How do you respond to challenges?
How do you engage in your environment?
How is communication effected?

Could you see through fresh eyes? See 'what is' really there, rather than what previous experiences tell you is there. Could you start each day afresh, fully surrendering to each experience as though it was the first time for everything?

Yes? COME ON!!!

Join my gang!!

Repeat after me...

"I am 10 again from this day forth" :-)

or at least for the next day - week...millenia??

So I'll see you in the kid-zone...I'll be the one with the polka dot bikini, pink afro wig, bells on my ankles and bells on my wrists, squealing with glee as I catwheel across the room into a huge pile of pink fluffy cushions! (insert own scenario here)

Have a great week everyone!! I'm off to ITALY!!!!! Yippeeeeee!!! With my 10 year old soul!! Woo-hooooo!!!!

Grandè amorè (hand-stands and backflips)

All you need is LOVE...ba, ba da da daaa

"The love you take is equal to the love you make." Paul McCartney

We've talked about this - how like attracts like; what you put out is what you get back - and guess what? There are nooooo exclusions ;-) uh-uh - none. That means WHATEVER you put out there - comes back - like a boomerang. (guddoyngg!)

LOVE as well at HATE as well as FEAR as well as JOY as well as IMPATIENCE as well as COMPASSION etc., etc. All of it - is yours - if you want it...or you have the choice - to 'cherry pick' ;-) I know what I'm choosing!

Here's the deal - whatever you put out is also what you wear out - like a shining sequined coat (LOVE), or the grim reapers habit ;-[ (fear etc). (Boys - if sequins aren't your thing > insert suitable replacement!) As humans we have an incredible ability to sense unspoken feelings - we are sense animals after all!

Notice what goes on around you. How do others respond to you? Which coat are you wearing? The fastest turnaround from any negative situation, is through learning to open your heart to 'see' the truth of what is really happening. Learn to love yourself through understanding why you are attracting that kind of situation. When you give love - you attract love - when you give anger - you attract anger. Be honest about how you're feeling and why it is coming to you.

When you live in love, you are equal to your environment. Stuff still happens to bring challenge into the equation - that's just life - but you deal with it in a whole new way - from a place of trust - not fear. You learn to attract more of the good stuff! Bring it ON!!!

You cannot embrace love whilst holding on to fear...it's impossible! They live in separate parts of the body; the head and heart respectively. My great teacher and friend - Sky - coined the phrase, 'Stop and drop' - stop identifying with the mind, and drop into the silence of the heart.' This is a great technique for letting go of negative emotion, letting the 'story' of what you think is happening slip, and starting to live from heart intelligence - with integrity. Try it and see for yourself...STOP (mind) and DROP (heart)...ahhhh...feel better? ;-)

I'm pitching back to the Beatles this week for some love, love, love...

"There's nothing you can do that can't be done,

Nothing you can sing that can't be sung,

Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game,

It's EASY!

Nothing you can make that can't be made,

No-one you can save that can't be saved,

Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time,

It's EASY!

All you need is LOVE...ba, ba da da daaa

All you need is LOVE...ba, ba da da daaa

All you need is LOVE...love...love is all you need" The Beatles

Live from your heart - open up to the full expression of who you are! Let the world experience YOU and all your unique talents, and surrender to the beauty of life.

Don't wait - start NOW!

The world is waiting...

Roll up for the mystery tour! :-)

"The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious - the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science." Albert Einstein

Some things in life are not easily understood. In school we are taught to find the intellectual answer for all things - the science behind life - yet in real life, as many ancient scriptures tell us, not everything can be understood within the limited capacity of the mind.

Life is really about experience - understanding follows experience. You can read all the books in the world, do all the courses that interest you, but until you apply it, you will not totally understand it. Start living each learning, and approach life with a 'suck it and see' philosophy - it's a winning recipe for HAPPINESS.

"If you recognise everything as devine design, the design unfolds devinely." Sky

We so often resist trying new stuff for fear of failure, wanting perfection on the first try. Life isn't like that. We learn more by our mistakes than by our triumphs. If we never had the troughs - how would be recognise the peaks?

We all have UP days, and down days, difficult days and easy days - it's all part of the design; contrast that enables the essential clarity. The trick is to recognise that it is just a day - and this too shall pass. Everything passes and if you can just keep the faith and be patient as it all unfolds for you - mysteriously ;-) you will be amazed by how easy it can be.

In the meantime, grow your good by talking about all the little and BIG things that are good and happening in your life. This is the fastest, safest and most gratifying way to attract more into your life. It's too easy - and almost hypnotic at times - to get stuck focusing on everything that's 'wrong', 'frustrating', 'upsetting', 'difficult' etc., and none of that makes us feel any good at all!

It takes effort to shift perspective, persistent, focused intention and applied effort. Baby steps - one - two - freeeee! :-) Set achievable goals - set yourself up for success each day - not a fall; you don't have to climb the whole mountain in a day! BE nice to yourself...

See it all as a game. Lighten up - look for the gift - life is supposed to be enjoyable - fun even!! Stop taking yourself so seriously and get involved with the BIG F-F-F-FUN stuff. (pwetty pwease?)

"You will have wonderful surges forward. Then there must be a time of consolidating before the next forward surge. Accept this as part of the process and never become downhearted." Eileen Caddy

As a foot note - three of my clients phoned today, to celebrate GREAT triumphs that only months ago seemed daunting, fantastical, impossible even. How quickly you each proved yourselves wrong!! See how easy it is when you let go...and trust?

So CONGRATULATIONS to each of you, and let it inspire the rest of us to begin living a life that we ABSOLUTELY LOVE. It's all so possible...

PS - Congrats and gratitude also to the four coaching session winners from last week. Based on the response, I've decided to offer one free session each week now... soooo first in; BEST DRESSED!!

Have an AMAZING week everyone!

Thanks again for your time and feedback.
